How it works

From the first phone call to the first soft shower, here is exactly what happens and who does what.

Nobody buys water treatment equipment often enough to know the routine, so people are usually a little wary about what they are agreeing to when they book a water test. Fair enough. Here is the whole process laid out, including the parts where nothing is asked of you.

Start to finish, step by step

Seven stages, and you are only asked for a decision at one of them.

You get in touch

Call (614) 555-0100 or fill in the request form. We ask for a phone number, an address, and whether you are on city water or a well. If you already know what is bothering you about the water, tell us then. It helps us bring the right things along.

We come out and test the water

At a time you picked, including evenings and Saturdays. The testing happens at your kitchen sink and takes about twenty minutes. We measure hardness, check for iron, and go through taste and odor with you. You are welcome to watch every bit of it.

We explain the results

In plain English, at your table, with the numbers written down. What each reading means, which of them are worth doing something about, and which are not. You keep the results whether or not you buy anything.

We recommend what your water needs

Only that. If the answer is a softener, we will say which one and why that size. If the answer is a drinking water station and no softener, we will say that instead. If the answer is that your existing equipment needs a service call rather than replacing, we will say that too.

You decide, on your own time

There is nothing to sign while we are there. Take a week, talk it over, call us with the questions that come up afterward. Everybody has questions afterward.

We install it

Our own installers, not a subcontractor. Most residential installs are done inside a morning. We shut the water off, plumb the system in, start it up, and clean up after ourselves. Before we leave we walk you through where the salt goes and what the system does on its own.

We stay in touch

Salt delivery across Central Ohio so nobody is hauling bags. Filter changes on a schedule we keep track of. And service on every brand, including whatever was in the basement before we got there.

What we need from you

Not much. Someone home during the visit who can answer a couple of questions about the household, and clear access to the kitchen sink. For the install, access to wherever the water comes into the house, which in most Central Ohio homes is a basement corner near the meter or the pressure tank.

What running a Kinetico is like afterward

Quieter than people expect. There is nothing plugged in, so there is no display to read and no settings to keep straight. The system is driven by the water moving through it and it counts gallons, so it regenerates when your household has actually used the capacity rather than on a fixed schedule. A week with houseguests and a week away both take care of themselves.

Your part is salt in the tank. Check it when you think of it, top it up when it is low, and that is genuinely the whole maintenance routine on a softener. Drinking water cartridges get changed on a longer interval, and they lift out and drop back in by hand.

One honest caveat. Two houses on the same street can test differently, particularly where one is on a well. That is why we measure at your sink instead of quoting from the driveway, and it is why we cannot tell you over the phone what your house needs.

If you would rather read what other Central Ohio homeowners said about the process, the testimonials page is there. Practical questions are answered on the FAQ.

Start with the water test.

It is the step everything else depends on, it takes about twenty minutes, and it costs nothing. We will bring the results to your kitchen table and explain them.
