What people tell us afterward
We asked customers around Columbus what actually changed once the system went in. Hardly any of them talked about the equipment. They talked about towels, coffee and their children's skin, which is exactly what we were hoping to hear.
I did not believe the part about using less detergent until I ran out of it and honestly did not notice for most of a week. Our towels come out of the dryer soft again. That by itself would have been enough.
Julie R.Westerville. Signature Series softener.
We are on a well out past Sunbury and the toilet tanks were orange no matter what I scrubbed them with. They tested, explained that the iron had to come out ahead of the softener, and did it in that order. No more orange.
Dan P.Sunbury. Softener with an iron filter.
The crew put drop cloths on stairs I would not have bothered covering myself. Before they left they walked my wife down and showed her the shutoff and the salt. Small things, but you notice them.
Tom and Marie K.Grove City. Signature Series softener.
I bought the K5 for the coffee, if I am honest about it. My husband claims he cannot taste any difference, and then drinks four cups. I stand by the purchase.
Angela D.Dublin. K5 Drinking Water Station.
Our daughter has always had dry skin in the winter and bath time was a fight every night. It is not a fight anymore. I am not going to call it a miracle, but it is better and she has stopped complaining.
Rebecca S.Pickerington. Signature Series softener.
No power cord was the whole selling point for me. We lose power out here every winter and I was tired of resetting things afterward. This one just carries on as if nothing happened.
Wayne H.Marysville. Premier Series softener.
They came out, tested the water, and told me it was not as bad as I had convinced myself and that I did not need the larger unit. I have never had anyone talk me down before. That is exactly why they got the job.
Priya N.New Albany. Signature Series softener.
Years in now and it has asked almost nothing of us. The same fellow comes every year, checks it over, we talk about the Buckeyes for a minute and he goes on his way.
Greg M.Hilliard. Signature Series softener.
The pattern in all of them
Read those back and you will notice something. Nobody is excited about a water softener. People are excited about a Tuesday that went slightly better than it used to.
That is the honest measure of whether this was worth doing. Not the equipment in the basement, but whether the ordinary hours of your week got a little easier. Softer towels. Coffee that tastes like the bag said it would. A shower door you stopped fighting with. A child who got out of the tub without an argument.
The other pattern is the one about being talked out of something. We would rather size a smaller system correctly than sell a larger one badly, because we are the ones who have to come back and stand in your basement every year afterward.
Ask us for a name near you
If you would rather hear it from somebody on your own street than read it on a website, ask us. There is a decent chance we have put a system into a house within a mile or two of yours, and plenty of our customers are happy to take the call.
We will only ever pass along names of people who have told us it is all right to do that. Nobody gets volunteered.
The next one of these could be yours
Start where all of them started, with twenty minutes at the kitchen sink and a real number for your water. It is free and there is nothing attached to it.
Or call (614) 555-0100 and talk it through with somebody first.
