It is the only honest way to start. We draw water at your own tap, run the tests at your table while you watch, and hand you the numbers. There is no charge and nothing attached to it.

What actually happens

One of us comes to the house at a time you picked. We fill a glass at the kitchen sink and test it in front of you, so you can see the result appear rather than take our word for it afterward.

You get your hardness in grains per gallon, and depending on what we find, a look at iron, at odor and at anything else the water is carrying. If you are on a well we will want a few more minutes and a look at the equipment you already have.

Then we tell you what it means. Sometimes that is a recommendation. Sometimes it is that your water is in reasonable shape and you do not need much from us, in which case we say so and go home. Either way the numbers are yours to keep.

What we will not do

We will not turn up with equipment on the truck hoping to leave with a signature. We will not tell you your water is frightening, because it is not, and that is not how we would want to be sold to either. We will not keep calling you afterward if you tell us you are not interested.

What we will do is measure your water properly, explain what the numbers mean in ordinary English, and leave you with them. If that leads somewhere, good. If it does not, you have still got twenty minutes' worth of facts about your own house that you did not have this morning.
