Customized for your home

Customizable, multi-stage filtration

Choose the FlexFilters for the water challenges you face now, and change them as your needs change.

EverClean® Rinse

The K5 uses high-quality water to clean itself, which keeps the system in top working order and extends the life of the membrane.

MACguard® and the PureMometer®

The filter life indicator tells you when it is time for a change, and the system will not push filters past their capacity. Quick-disconnect cartridges make changes simple.

How reverse osmosis works in the K5

Reverse osmosis pushes water through a semi-permeable membrane under pressure. The K5 is designed for water pressure between 50 and 120 psi, and temperature, pressure and total dissolved solids all affect how quickly the membrane produces water.

That is why the K5 keeps treated water in its storage tank, and why a postfilter finishes the water as it leaves the tank, so every glass tastes fresh.

Benefits of an under-sink water system

Better-tasting drinking water

A semi-permeable membrane holds back very small particles, so water tastes noticeably better for drinking, cooking, coffee and more.

Multi-stage filtration

Kinetico systems pair prefilters, a high-performance membrane and postfilters to improve water at each step.

Filtration customized to your water

Flexible filter options let your system target what matters in your home, whether that is taste, odor or a specific contaminant.

For city and well water

Reverse osmosis works across a wide range of water sources, and your expert will confirm the right setup for yours.

Drinking water questions

What is reverse osmosis?

Reverse osmosis, or RO, uses water pressure to push water through a semi-permeable membrane that holds back very small particles. Kinetico systems pair the membrane with sediment and carbon stages for better performance and taste.

What contaminants does a reverse osmosis system reduce?

Reverse osmosis systems are designed to reduce a wide range of drinking water contaminants, and every Kinetico system lists its certified claims on its performance data sheet. A water test shows which contaminants are in your water, so the system can be matched to them.

What is the difference between a tank-based and a tankless system?

A tank-based system such as the K5 fills a small storage tank so filtered water is ready when you open the faucet. A direct-flow system such as the HYDRO® ECO treats water as it is drawn, with no storage tank under the sink.

How often are filters changed?

It depends on your water, your usage and the system. As a general guide, Kinetico suggests changing pre- and post-filters about once a year and checking the membrane every year. Cardinal Water Solutions can schedule filter changes for you.

Can I use replacement cartridges from an online retailer?

No. Kinetico notes that replacement cartridges bought online are not approved or certified for use with Kinetico products, may not perform to specification, and void your product warranty. Genuine cartridges come from your local Kinetico dealer.
